Lancaster Services is a motorway service station on the M6 motorway. It is perhaps best known the Pennine Tower, a hexagonal concrete tower on the northbound side of the services.
The tower was designed to resemble an air traffic control tower and once housed a restaurant. This was closed in the 1980s as, with only one exit, it didn’t meet fire regulations. It is a Grade II listed building so cannot be demolished without special permission.
