Alina does not have a ‘pizza face’. She’s gorgeous and her skin is perfect. The photo is named so because she wasn’t happy with the backdrop; a Domino’s pizza restaurant in Kiev, Ukraine.
However I assured her that the background would be blurred out due to me shooting at f/4 and being pretty much just a few inches from her face when the shot was taken.

The camera used was a Sony A7RII with with a Sony FE 24 – 70 F2.8 GM lens. The model was lit with a Yongnuo YN360 LED light.
Initial postprocessing took place in Lightroom (exposure increased by one stop, shadows recovered, and whites/blacks adjusted). Adjustments in Photoshop include some skin retouching (frequency separation), dodging and burning to emphasize facial features, and eye whitening.
As a final adjustment, a Kodak Portra 1600VC film emulation preset was added in Exposure X2.
The photo was taken just after we’d been tenpin bowling at Dream Town, a shopping and entertainment centre in the Obolon area of the city.
The position of Dream Town is displayed in the map below.
