This photo was taken for the Visit Kiev Ukraine tourism website. It was shot in Menya Musashi, a Japanese ramen restaurant in Kiev city centre.
Myself and model Anastasiia took a seat near a large floor-to-ceiling window. It offered a good dose of natural light that illuminated her face perfectly.

The photograph was taken with my Sony A7RII camera with a Sony FE 24 – 70 F2.8 GM lens. No flash was used.
Initial postprocessing was undertaken in Lightroom with shadows brightened, highlights lowered, and vibrancy increased.
In Photoshop work was done on skin smoothing and blemish removal, using frequency separation. Eyes were brightened and facial features accentuated using dodging and burning.
Finishing touches were applied in Exposure X2. A Kodak Portra 400 NC film emulation preset was applied, together with a subtle vignette.
The location of Menya Musashi can be seen in the map below.
